Every site likes to think that anyone should use it. We do too, but that just isn't the case. RepVine will help some people more than others. We designed RepVine to help those where relationships play a key role in their life and business, where having validation of their character and service offerings would increase the quantity and quality of their work.

Three years ago I was speaking with a potential customer. He did not know me, and we were not referred to one another. Being two-thousand miles apart and quite different in personalities, we almost did not work together. That would have been a mistake as that person is today a close friend and contributor to this site. Were either of us to have RepVine then, we could have simply viewed each others references and came to the conclusion that we almost didn't. How many times have you perhaps picked the wrong person, judged too hastily, or missed out on an opportunity all because you could not validate who that person or business was? How much extra time was spent even when things did finally work out? This is why RepVine exists.

RepVine aims to broaden and strengthen the referral process. RepVine takes an existing behavior, on which the world relies heavily for some of its biggest decisions, getting and giving references, and provides an online platform for easy access. By doing so, RepVine gives people more choices and more confidence in the decision making process. RepVine acts as a warehouse for feedback and opinions on people and businesses. This means that people do not have to wait when references are needed, nor do they have to limit themselves to just two or three references.

The RepVine platform can service a doctor or dentist with the same effectiveness that it can a small web hosting or graphic design shop. RepVine will work best, though, for those who have a web presence, but that does not mean you have to have a website. A web presence means that you spend time online, be it buying / selling, chatting, or just sending emails. For those who do have a site, a blog, or an online profile, RepVine will click well.

As stated elsewhere, RepVine works best when people contribute. Try to get references from, and invite people who will not just write a reference for you, but get references from others as well. We have seen it work for advertising account managers to a Ph.D. in organic chemistry who helps other researchers conduct experiments. What all of this means, simply stated, is just that RepVine should work for you and your business.
