An alumnus of Rollins College, Ferdinand L. Starbuck has been fundraising for many years of his life. He works as a planned giving expert, as well as a noted Non-Profit Project Consultant for the healthcare and education fields. His extensive background in marketing, sales, advertising, business development, and account and relationship management have been instrumental to his success in organizing gift-giving profiles and programs for various institutions.
Ferdinand Starbuck graduated on the Dean’s List from Rollins College with a BA in 1967 and a MBA in 1970. During his college education, he was a part of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, and in his freshman year, his fraternity won the basketball champion in a competition amongst other fraternities. His tennis team also claimed the National Small College Tennis Championship in 1966. Ferdinand Starbuck also played on the Freshmen Basketball team.
After graduation, Ferdinand Starbuck worked in advertising, sales, and marketing for nearly 20 years before he became a planned giving professional and started forming charitable programs for hospitals, schools, and the like. Since 1996, Ferdinand Starbuck has worked as a Non-Profit Project Consultant, creating and marketing specially designed giving programs, profiles, and opportunities for various non-profits, as well as compiling information for brochures, websites, newsletters, and establishing bequest expectancy files, honorary boards, and professional advisors networks.
Over the past decade, Ferdinand Starbuck has worked and partnered with such notable institutions as Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP), Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), Waterbury Hospital, and the University of New Haven, implementing creative planned giving marketing strategies, soliciting and closing charitable gifts, building planned giving programs, and launching giving societies.
Ferdinand Starbuck, a champion tennis player, reading enthusiast and movie buff, actively volunteers for (NCH) The Naples Community Hospital: the United Way of Greater Waterbury and Danbury, Connecticut, the Easter Seals of Waterbury, Connecticut, and The Chamber of Commerce of Greater Waterbury. He also has served on the Rollins College Alumni Board.
