Dan Abrams has developed a reputation as a dexterous news reporter and digital media entrepreneur during an impressive 20-year career that began at NBC Sports. In 1992, the Duke University and Columbia Law School alumnus succeeded his NBC sports internship with five-year tenure as a court reporter for CourtTV, now TruTV. Dan Abrams then served as a News Consultant and a General Assignment Correspondent for NBC, delivering respected news reporting on a variety of programs, including NBC Nightly News, the Today show, and Dateline NBC. Equipped with his extensive background in law, Dan Abrams covered many high profile legal proceedings, including the 2000 Bush v. Gore Supreme Court Decision that determined the United States presidency, the Oklahoma City bombing trials, and the Clinton Impeachment trials. Following a decade of successful news and legal reporting, Dan Abrams began his own legal analysis show, The Abrams Report, which aired for five years often as the highest rated show on the network. Subsequent contributions included a year and a half as General Manager of MSNBC, during which time ratings increased 62%, and another program entitled Verdict with Dan Abrams. Dan Abrams now serves as CEO of media research firm Abrams Research and heads five Internet news sites that form the Abrams Media Network. Under Dan Abrams’ direction, Mediaite, GossipCop, GeekoSystem, Styleite and SportsGrid have exploded, attracting savvy news and entertainment consumers. Mediaite.com, which Dan Abrams founded in 2009, delivers rapid-fire news, political commentary, and critical opinion, while Gossipcop.com turns a critical eye toward celebrity news. In 2010, Dan Abrams added the fashion site Styleite.com and the techno-buzz portal Geekosystem.com to his family of sites. This year, Dan Abrams plans to add three additional sites: Mogulite.com, which will cover the activities of high profile business people; MarySue.com, a technology Blog crafted for a female audience; and a job board for media professionals that he hopes to extend to his other sites as well.
