Franck Raharinosy

A popular figure in the New York nightlife scene, Franck Raharinosy is co-owner of the popular club SPiN New York, which is a combination nightclub and table tennis hall. Franck Raharinosy has been an aficionado of the game since 2003, when he won a friend's birthday table-tennis tournament. Since then, he has become a resident of the National Arts Club, where he has a table tennis table situated below his apartment, and has helped to create the popular table tennis night Naked Ping-Pong, now hosted on Tuesdays at SPiN. Naked Ping-Pong has attracted numerous celebrities over the years, ranging from author Salman Rushdie to actress Susan Sarandon, who is an investor in SPiN. With a luxe lounge sponsored by sportswear designer Fred Perry, SPiN frequently plays host to corporate events for Google, Microsoft, Vanity Fair, Cartier, Hermes, and many other major companies. Born in Lyon, France, Franck Raharinosy spent his teenage years in La Reunion, an island near Madagascar, from which his father originates. After earning degrees in business and law from Ecole de Gestion et de Commerce de la Reunion, he emigrated to the United States, joining the marketing department of French airline Air Outre Mer in Los Angeles. Offered an opportunity to intern at MTV News, Franck Raharinosy moved to New York, and spent the next several years filming documentary projects for the network by day and working at popular nightclubs Lot 61 and Lotus in the evenings. He left MTV in 2003 to film a documentary on fashion designer Sebastian Pons and briefly owned his own clothing line, Franck, which was sold exclusively at Barney's. In addition to SPiN, Franck Raharinosy is a partner in the production company Ridiculous LLC, which recently co-financed the 2009 documentary The Entrepreneur with Morgan Spurlock of Super Size Me fame.
